So, I guess I'm doing like "callbacks" for the admin spot.
And I had the great idea to send it via ask.
There’s an ask limit, so.
I sent some of them through submissions, so if you haven’t gotten an ask or a submission it’s either because 1. You have submissions turned off and I have to wait until I can send it as an ask. or 2. For whatever reason you weren’t one of the like 20 people I decided to ask a few more questions. I mean there can only actually be like one or two admins, and I love all of you so much and each and every one of you was so interesting and deserving but, yeah. This is just a really unimportant admin spot on a vaguely unpopular blog on the internet, so don’t sweat it.
Hello,I've been a vegetarian since i was 6 and have always felt that a lot of people who have came and gone have found it hard to deal with-i mean, its not really that hard to deal with really? My parents managed fine and they were the ones feeding me! (who aren't veggie but a lot of my relatives are) Has anyone else had this?
Well I haven’t been a vegetarian as long as you have but I do find that many people find my lifestyle “hard to deal with,” even when it doesn’t affect them in any way at all. It’s strange, really.
When do you think you'll decide on the new admin(s) ?
By the end of this week. Probably a lot sooner than that. I am so so sorry it’s taken so long but I am actually swamped right now! Y’all don’t even need to hear about my excuses right now but this is obviously why I need an admin ASAP. So very very soon. I promise.
I am going to my boyfriends house for dinner. They are serving a roast chicken with like gravy chicken flavored rice, and desert is jello. -_- yaaaaaaay.
Eat before and see if there’s anything you can pick at while you’re there! Try not to seem rude, though. Just a question- why didn’t your boyfriend tell his mom that you’re a vegetarian? I know some people are less accommodating than others, but come on.
I usually tell people I don't eat dead animals and I simply hate those smarty pants asking me if I ate living ones. Haha. Very funny. I'm just so glad my boyfriend is a vegetarian to, together we prepare the most amazing dishes. And thankfully, all my colleagues don't eat animals as well. Btw I love this blog so much! DFTBA, guys :)
i submitted an application to be an admin, and i'm just wondering if you've like, said anything to the applicants. i just wanna make sure mine went through.
No, I haven’t. And do to the sheer number of applicants and the fact that applications are submissions, which are much less easy to reply to than questions, I won’t be able to reply to every individual person. I appreciate EVERYONE though! If you’re wondering if yours went through come off anon and I’ll tell you
I'm not going to submit an application because I'm really inadequate at technology, though I'd really like to help. Anyway, just wanted to say that your taste in authors is commendable. :)
Aw thanks! And hey? Aren’t you the person who asks and answers questions a lot? And you asked about helping out on the blog a while ago? (I could be completely wrong) if so, give it a shot! GIMP is super easy to pick up, and I may need someone to help answering questions and someone else to help making graphics. I’m not sure yet!
do girls find veggie guys less masculine then other guys?
I’ve only ever met one guy vegetarian and he was pretty masculine! I’ll try not to rant about this but a lot of people these days have really skewed ideals of masculinity, and for that reason a lot of people probably see male vegetarians as less manly because “a big ol’ steak” is such a stereotypical manly thing. So yeah, most people probably see guys who don’t eat meat as imnot masculine, but most girl vegetarians wi would probably love a guy vegetarian!
This is just from what I've seen, but a lot of the vegetarians I come across tend to be very nasty and rude (not all, just most!). Whenever I say I'm a vegetarian but eat fish maybe twice a month, they freak out and tell me I'm a murderer, I'm not a real vegetarian, I should go to hell, etc. No offense, but I feel like eating ANY less meat is a good thing! Who cares that I eat fish once or twice a month...? Am I just running into mean Vegetarians? I've only met one or two that are actually nice.
Yeah a lot of people can be kind of extreme but it’s usually not out of meanness its just misplaced zeal for the cause. Eating less meat is great! There’s a pretty good chance they just don’t like that you call yourself a vegetarian instead of a pescetarian, but don’t mind them! It’s people like that who turn people away from being full vegetarian!
To the person who is switching from vegetarianism to veganism let yourself eat a lot of junk food the first two weeks or so to satisfy cravings. I for example ate a ton of peanut butter the first month I went vegan but it helps to keep from wanting dairy. Also don't cheat or allow yourself to have dairy every once in a while, it just makes it harder and you'll find yourself wanting dairy more and more.
If junk food is peanut butter and not like, potato chips, then sure, indulge!
Lately I've been thinking about switching from vegetarianism to veganism, but I was going to wait two more years till I went to grad school and didn't have to depend upon food from the caf or my parents. Today something happened that made me decide I was sick of it and I am going to switch right now. I have a little bit of cheese and milk in my fridge, I'm going to finish that off and then I am done with eating cheese, milk, eggs, and the like. Does any one having any tips on being vegan?
Good for you! Stick with it an make sure you’re very careful about staying healthy. I’m not a vegan, but I will be eventually and I wish you the best! Anyone else have any tips?
