Anonymous asked: About the second-hand leather. My best friend is a vegetarian as well and she often buys leather from thrift stores. You are then not contributing to the leather industry, you're contributing to the thrift store. Therefore, it's really not that big of a deal. It's all about supply and demand. Although, I know that for most vegetarians it's weird to think about buying and...

Anonymous asked: There are millions of meat eaters on this earth and they wanna pick fights with you for not eating meat? I don't understand their logic. AT ALL. And really they are in no position to tell anyone how to eat. In the end, we're all gonna eat what we want and that decision will not be influenced by what some nobody has to say on the internet.

Anonymous asked: To the anon saying all milk and eggs come from battery/factory farms: I DARE you to come to the UC Davis Dairy Facility and say that again. All our cows are treated well--the dairy facility manager loves his cows and gets sad when they get sick, The hatchery on campus have extremely large cages that allow the chickens to spread their wings and not run into another chicken, and they're also...

Anonymous asked: I'm a vegetarian and I eat gelatin. I. EAT. GELATIN. I don't produce the enzyme to digest meat, so I don't eat meat. Gelatin is not composed of the same things meat is. Scientifically, IT IS NOT MEAT. Vegetarian does NOT mean "doesn't-eat-things-animals-die-for" it means "doesn't-eat-meat." Why is this such a difficult concept to grasp?

gypsyheartgypsymind asked: HAHAHAhahahaha "get off your high horses and go vegan". The hypocrisy speaks for itself. Anyway. I just wanted to say that I think you do great with this blog. I wish we could go back to the days of more actual "vegetarian problems", but you're a saint for putting up with most of this bullshit.

fearofgod asked: I'm glad people are 'attacking' your misguided and inaccurate views of what you consider a diet that is completely free from animal ingredients or products. Based on your responses, I can only assume you're a teenager of 16-25 and your faux optimistic outlook positive attitude and inability to define the difference between animal use and non animal based products for personal...

Anonymous asked: wrong, anon. NOT all milk and eggs come from factory/battery farms. Have you ever even visited a family-run farm before, where the farmers themselves milk the cows and collect the eggs by their OWN hands without the help of any machinery? And no, I will not go vegan. I'm fine with being vegetarian.

keepholding-me asked: but you have to see the reasons why some people are not vegetarian. some people (like me) don't have the kind of parents who let you choose what you want to eat. also you certainly know that vegetarian food is more expensive so not all parents are willing to pay more because of a phase they think you are going through. i understand that it doesn't make sense to you. I'm not...

mercipandarouge asked: Vegetarianism is based on not eating anything that involves the death of an animal. Gelatine is made from the ground up bones and hooves of an animal, thus being an animal product and having to kill an animal in the process, therefore not being vegetarian. Answering for anon, because you seem to be retarded.

holdencawffled asked: Just out of curiosity... Why would a person still be considered vegetarian if he/she still eats gelatin? I mean, like, I'm a pretty new vegetarian and as soon as I found out that gelatin is made out of animal things or something and then read your gelatin-containing food list, I immediately gave away my pack of marshmallows to my brother. OH MY GOD I WASTED 50 BUCKS

Anonymous asked: Two things that are problems for you. One, vegetarian isn't a green diet. Milk and eggs come from factory/ battery farms and the livestock industry is the biggest contributor to global warming and by eating milk and eggs your still supporting this. Second, go vegan

All the dining commons have a vegetarian/vegan area, and the chefs are very accommodating--they'll even happily make a vegetarian/vegan version of a meat-based dish for you if you politely ask! :)

If The Lorax was realistic, the Oncelers would have captured, forcefully breed, and slaughtered the Barbaloots for their Barbaloot suits, killed the Swomee-Swans to make Swomee-Swan down pillows, and overfished the population of Humming Fish until the species died out.
